Inspired by the Galveston Beach Parol's historic cross-border lifeguard training programs with the Mexican Gulf port city of Veracruz and the Mexican Armada, a team of Red Cross Cadets from Monterrey TEC's Prepa Santa Catarina Campus spent a winter weekend teaming up with Major Vic Maceo's Galveston JG's.

With sunshine one day and storm surf the next, the Galveston-Monterrey GO-FIRST Team produced Spanish and English adventure-learning units in TOUR and TEAM, SAFETY, SERVICE and COOL WATER.
